American Legion Menu — The menu for the American legion auxiliary Chester post 67 for Friday, March 23,2018. Is Fish Fry or meat loaf,garlic mashed potatoes,gravy,mixed vegetables with Apple pie a la mode. Meals are served from 5 - 7 p.m.

Saturday, March 24

ROTARY CLUB EASTER EGG HUNT - Rotary Club of Chester, Vermont announces the annual Easter Egg Hunt to be held at 9 a.m. sharp on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Chester-Andover Elementary School. This event is open to all Chester and Andover children from preschool to sixth grade.

Parents are advised to arrive with their children by 8:45 a.m., so the children will not miss the opportunity for participation.

Holy Week Services at Chester Baptist Church include: A Maundy Thursday communion service which will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 29 and at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 30 will be a Good Friday Service, observing the passion of Christ through the Stations of the Cross.


Chester Baptist Church will be hosting an Easter egg hunt and activities on Saturday, March 31 at the church from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Kids pre-school age through 5th grade are invited to bring an Easter basket and join the hunt and then hear the Easter story and participate in crafts. Please RSVP by March 28 by calling the church office at (802) 875-2638. Leave your name, phone number and the ages and number of children attending.


An Easter Sunrise service will be held outdoors at the Green Mountain Union High School at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 1, followed by breakfast at the Chester Baptist Church at 7:30 a.m. Morning worship, celebrating the risen Christ, will be at 10:30 a.m.. Chester Baptist Church is located at 162 Main Street.


ASTRONOMY GROUP — The Southern Vermont Astronomy Group meets at 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month, at the Whiting Library in Chester. Meetings are to continue the growth of new astronomy, research and education capabilities. For more information, visit www.sovera.org.

CHURCH SERVICES — First Universalist Parish of Chester (in the historic stone village) hold services at 9:30 a.m. Sundays, from September to June, on Route 103 (211 North Street) in Chester. A Youth Program program is offered for children on the first and third Sundays of the month. Childcare is provided during the service. Fellowship with coffee and refreshments follows. PRAYER AND STUDY — St. Luke's Episcopal Church, at 313 Main St., Chester, holds a Mid-Week Prayer and Study on Wednesdays beginning at 9:40 a.m. for morning prayer and 10:30 a.m. for the Study. The current study comes from the book, "Conversations with Scripture, The Gospel of John” by Cynthia Briggs Kittredge. This will continue through February. For more information, contact the Rev.
